Privacy

The short version: your data is yours, it stays local unless you turn on sync, and we collect as little as possible.

OpenBook is local-first. Your pages and settings live on your device. With sync switched off, nothing about your documents is sent anywhere.

If you enable sync

Signing in (via your chosen identity provider) lets OpenBook store your synced settings and pages so they follow you across devices. You can disconnect a device, reset your synced data, or delete your account at any time.

Sign-in

Authentication uses OAuth single sign-on. We never see or store a password — your provider verifies you and shares only your basic profile (name, email, avatar).

Analytics

Marketing pages may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics. The app itself does not track the contents of your documents.

This page is a plain-language summary, not a contract. A formal policy accompanies any account you create.
